When it comes to making sofas feel alive in a home, few do it better than Debbie and her daughter Emily from Style Statements & Co. Based in Cheltenham, Victoria, Debbie has been styling homes for over 10 years under the Style Statements & Co name. With Emily now joining the team, the pair are building a strong brand presence across Melbourne.
For a sofa retailer, producing fresh product content is no small feat. There’s a lot to juggle—locations, stylists, photographers, videographers, lighting designers, not to mention all the props and accessories needed to pull a shoot together.
Secret Sofa wanted new content for two of their products: the Haven Chaise in Torelli Dove and the Janson 3-Seater in Vogue Moss. Without the in-house expertise to style and accessorise a shoot, Debbie and Emily stepped in to help.
The brief was clear: give the Haven a touch of flair while keeping with its muted beige-grey tones. The Janson, however, is a bold dark green velvet—styling needed to highlight the eclectic nature of both the colour and the fabric.
“For the Janson, we leaned into an eclectic, contemporary vibe—rich green velvet paired with warm timbers, patterned cushions, and those little unexpected touches that make you want to reach for a book and a cup of tea. The Haven, on the other hand, got the relaxed, family-living treatment. Think soft, neutral layers, plush throws, and the kind of casual elegance that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay a while,” said Debbie.
The day itself was a blur of cushions, coffee, and creative energy. Between setups, we captured video snippets, detail shots, and styling tips straight from the pros. By the end, the rooms looked exactly as imagined—inviting, lived-in, and unmistakably “Secret Sofa.”
